Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Impressions and Hopes

Earlier today The Pokémon Company showed off a ton of new content including remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. These remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP) appear to be one for one remakes of the original games, just with the graphical upgrades you would expect given the move to the Nintendo Switch.  For better or worse, the game overworld layout seems to follow the same grid format which leads the landscape to be rather blocky. We're also back to chibi human characters in the overworld instead of the full sized models we saw in Pokémon Sword and Shield. I am not stoked on that. I find the angular shapes of the environment and chibi proportions to be jarring. That said, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (ORAS) as well as the "Let's Go" games also suffered from the angularity of the environment since Kanto and Hoenn, like Sinnoh, were originally designed that way. I assume we'll see some angular tiled rocky borders and copy/paste tree

Pokémon Presents: What's Coming in 2021 and 2022

The Pokémon Company did not disappoint with today's video! We got New Pokémon Snap, Sinnoh Remakes, and even A NEW GAME launching in 2022. You can watch the video above for the full video. Here are my takes: New Pokémon Snap: The game looks gorgeous and the sheer number of pokémon present in the game seems to be very high. This obviously means the games will likely have a high replay value. There also seems to be a lot of focus on sharing the photos taken. I assume this means on social media. Currently the Nintendo Switch isn't the best when it comes to sharing screenshots, but maybe we'll get some in-game menu that would make it easier to share the images. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: The remakes we knew were likely coming dropped. The graphics are very "Pokémon Let's Go" like, however, the overworld is distinctly different in appearance, more like a more modern take of the original games rather than some sort of reboot. This makes the overw

Pokémon Presents on Feb. 26th: Diamond and Pearl Remakes for 2021?

Tomorrow at 10am EST there will be a Pokémon Presents stream that will last for 20 minutes. This is the announcement video I've been waiting for this week. Previously, The Pokémon Company had said there would be announcements all week, but outside of a Pokémon Masters EX update and some more info on their virtual concert on Saturday there hadn't been much.  As if the internet wasn't already speculating wildly, I'm sure it really has started blowing up now. I had seen on Twitter that people had already begun reading too far into a count down that the Pokémon Twitter account had been doing all week. Each day there would be a number and the starters from each generation starting with generation 8 and working backward. Once it hit generation 4, and used the words "Let's Go, Sinnoh!" in the post, people began getting all worried about a Let's Go generation 4 remake. A pretty big assumption given they made a post earlier in the week using generation 8 poké
